I love to make Valentine’s Day cards to send to my loved ones and lately I’ve been obsessed with making clean and simple cards with tons of white space - I love the look! For this card I really wanted to highlight those adorable little bunnies from Avery Elle’s Party Pals stamp set and I thought that the Three Hearts Die was the perfect addition to fill in the space up to the top of the card. I hope you enjoy! :)
Step 1: Stamp out images from Avery Elle’s Party Pals stamp set in a Copic friendly black ink - Lawn Fawn’s Jet Black ink is my favorite! It is super crisp and dark black and I find that it does not smear even if I start coloring right away. I stamped the “love" banner and the two bunnies from the set.
Step 2: Color images with Copic markers. I used E50, E51, and E53 for the brown bunny and W1 and W3 for the gray bunny. I left their tummies white and used a colorless blender to soften the edges. For their cheeks and the inside of their ears I used R30. For the “love” banner I used R24, R22, and R20 to create a soft gradient look. I faded the top of the letters out to white using my colorless blender again. I then used the coordinating dies to die cut these images out. It is hard to capture in the photos but I also used my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to add sparkle all over the banner and also to the cheeks, ears, and tummies of the bunnies! I then coated the banner with a layer of glossy accents and set aside to dry.
Step 3: Die cut the Three Hearts die from a panel of white cardstock measuring 4 1/8 by 5 1/4. My card base is the standard A2 size of 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and I wanted a small white border around this panel. Additionally, I grabbed a piece of the dark pink paper from Lawn Fawn’s Watercolor Wishes petite paper pack and I covered it with a clear glimmer paste for some sparkle. You could also use colored glitter paper or cover a piece of cardstock with loose prisma glitter if you don’t have glimmer paste!:)
Step 4: I came back to this project the next day after the glossy accents on the banner had dried completely and began to assemble my card. I adhered the pink paper piece directly to the card base using my favorite tape runner - Tombow Mono Dot Adhesive. Then, for some dimension I used Scrapbook Adhesives foam tape to pop up the white panel that was die cut with the Three Hearts die. Then I placed my images on the bottom right corner using Scrapbook Adhesives thin foam squares - I love these thin foam squares because they add the perfect amount of subtle dimension to your project!
Step 5: I think it’s fun to add something special to the inside of your cards too so I grabbed the “Happy Valentine’s Day” die from Avery Elle’s Tons of Hearts Frame and die cut it from the same dark pink color of cardstock from Lawn Fawn’s Watercolor Wishes petite paper pack. I used Ranger Multi Matte Medium to adhere the die cut sentiment to the inside of my card. I have a fine tip applicator on my bottle of Multi Matte Medium so I can just get tiny spots of glue down so I don’t make a mess everywhere! I find it super helpful.
Step 6: Add a bow around the top of the card using Lawn Fawn’s twine and you’re done! This card was super easy and fun to put together. I hope you enjoyed my project and I hope you have the best day!:)
