It was recently my boss' birthday and I wanted to create a personalized card for him using his 2 kitties as inspiration! I started by selecting a 6x6 pad of Honey Bee Stamps patterned paper that I wanted to use - although any/every patterned paper will work for this. I knew that I wanted to try an interactive card using Lawn Fawn's Shadow Box Card Die (LF1486), so I cut the box and the grass out using the die, then trimmed the grass so that it was straight instead of curved (so that it resembled a flat floor instead of a little grass patch).
Next I created a card base using a 3" by 11" piece of cardstock. I scored it at 5 1/2 inches and added coordinating patterned paper to the insides and outsides. I also added a few hearts and kitty paws to the patterned paper and stamped a sentiment which I added to the inside of the card.
Then I got to stamping using images from Lawn Fawn's Meow You Doin' Stamp Set (LF1315) and Screen Time (LF1684). I colored these images using Copic Markers that coordinated with the patterned paper I was using. I cut the images out using the Meow You Doin' Die Set (LF1316) and the Screen Time Die Set (LF1685) and set them aside.
Now it's time to assemble the card/pop up-box surprise inside! I used 1/8" Scor Tape to assemble the pop-up box (SC18) and adhered that to the inside of my card base using my handy dandy Xyron Mega Tape Runner (0701-05-00) and then adhered the images to the inside/outside of the card - popping some of the images up using Tombow Double Sided Foam Tape (62137) - and finished the card off using a few fun Catherine Pooler sequins - these Nuvo Sequins (1144n) would also work perfectly!
I love the fun shape of this card and how it reveals a surprise when you open it! Hope this inspires you to think outside the box (I'm so punny) when creating your next card!
