Flying By To Say HI! Card by Heather

Posted by Heather Innusa on

I am just so in love with the new Lawn Fawn products out now and LOVE that ScrapbookPal has such a great stock/selection of PAST Lawn Fawn Products as well!! I wanted to combine a few Lawn Fawn Stamp Sets to create a card today!

I absolutely love the balloons and that little fly away fox in Lawn Fawn's new Really High Five Stamp Set (LF2215). I wanted to create a scene using a few foxy friends - and went to my Lawn Fawn stash to find a few images that would work together.

I pulled out Lawn Fawn's On the Beach Stamp Set (LF1953) and also the Upon a Star Stamp Set (LF1407) - both have fun little foxes! I stamped the images that I wanted to use, then colored them with Copic Markers in the YR family (YR27-s, YR24-s, YR21-s, YR01-s) then added a little accent to each of the images using a White Gelly Roll Pen (37819). I cut the images out using the coordinating dies (LF2216, LF1954, and LF1408) and set them aside.

Next I decided that I wanted to create a slimline card and cut a Kraft cardbase to 8" by 8" and scored it at 4" to create an XL portrait card. I then cut a piece of Bristol Smooth paper to 7 & 3/4" by 3 & 3/4 and pulled out my Antique Linen Distress Ink (TIM-19497) and Antique Linen Distress Oxide (TDO-55792) along with a Hilly Border Die (LF2247) to create a sandy scene at the bottom of the card panel. I also added some splatters of the oxide mixed with water for a fun sandy look! Now we work on the sky - and for this I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink (TIM-27188), Salty Ocean Distress Ink (TIM-35015), and a Cloudy Border Stencil (LF2250) to create that.

Finally I added my images to the card panel and my card panel to the cardbase using the trusty Xyron Mega Tape Runner (0701-05-00). I also knew I wanted to sift through my stash and pull out some letter stickers I've been hoarding FOREVER and loved these golden Thickers by American Crafts! Then I used the sentiments from Really High Five to finish the card off.

I really love how this one came out and I hope it inspires you to sift through your stash when creating your next card AND look for ways you can combine your stamp sets to create a fun scene!
