Lawn Fawn Birthday Group-Peas and a Pivot Pop Up

Posted by Kara Progreba on

    Create Pivot Popup Panel:

1.Die cut the Lawn Fawn panel die twice out of white cardstock.

2.Attach the two panels by placing each tab behind the oposite panel, adhering with double sided tape.

3.Fold at the score lines. The two outer score lines should be folded forward, and the middle between the two panels should be folded back.

Stamp and color the scene onto the panel and card front:

1.In the MISTI, position a pea pod as desired and ink it with Copic friendly ink (Lawn Fawn Jet Black).

2.Wipe the ink off of the top line of the pod with a Lawn Fawn shammy.

3.Stamp the partially inked pod onto the panel.

4.Leave the pod stamp in the MISTI

5.Mask the bottom portion of the pea pod.

6.Stamp the peas in the pod, overlapping the bottom portion.

7.Mask the peas that are now in the pod

8.Re-ink the pod that is still in the MISTI and stamp over the originally stamped pod.

9.Mask the entire pod and peas as desired to overlap other pea pods until the panel is complete.

10.Stamp peas above the pods as though they were jumping out of the pods.

11.Stamp tendrils and leaves as desired.

12.Stamp speech bubbles and exclamations as desired.

13.Stamp faces on all of the peas.

14.On 1”x1” piece of white cardstock, stamp and mask peas to look as if they are crowded into a group photo.

15.Color the images with Copic Markers

      Complete the card front:

        1.Create a top folded 4 ¼”x5 ½” notecard out of white cardstock.

2.Position the 1” square “group photo” on the front of the card.

3.In the MISTI, Position the sentiment, “Hap-pea Birthday” underneath the square.

4.Stamp the sentiment in Lawn Fawn Artichoke ink.

        5.Adhere the square.

6.Die cut a scalloped green frame using Lawn Fawn’s Reveal Wheel Square Add-on.

7.Adhere the frame onto the square.

        Assemble the pivot popup:

1.Die cut the pivot popup mechanism out of white cardstock.

2.Crease the mechanism along the score lines (once in half, and twice diagonally).

3.Push the ends with the center fold in toward the middle. This will create a triangle at the top.

4.Add double sided tape to both sides of the triangle.

5.Open the mechanism so that it is flat and the triangles with tape are facing down.

6.Add double sided tape to the square ends that are facing up.

7.Turn the stamped panel upside down and adhere the square ends of the mechanism to the back of the panel.

8.Refold the mechanism with the panel now attached.

Create a sentiment on the inside of the card:

1.Determine how low to place the inside sentiment by placing the fully opened pivot popup in the center of the crease of the card.

2.Position sentiment stamps in the MISTI, masking off unused parts of the stamps to create the phrase “from your group-peas”.

3.Stamp the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Artichoke ink. Tip: when using letter dies, position the last letter of the word on the MISTI. Once it is on the MISTI door, add the other letters next to it.

            Attach the pivot popup:

1.Inside the card, Place the top of the mechanism in the center of the fold of the card.

2.Take off the release paper and set the lower triangle down onto the lower side of the fold of the card.

3.Close the card shut, adhering the upper triangle to the upper side of the fold of the card.

4.Open and close the card several times to “train” the pivot mechanism to open smoothly.
