Lawn Fawn Slimline with Lift the Flaps Birthday Card

Posted by Cassie Trask on

Hey there friends! It’s Cassie back to share a fun slimline card with you using one of the new slimline products from Lawn Fawn. I had to pair up this lift the flap with the super fun Coaster Critters Set, because summer reminds me of county fairs!

Step 1. Start by trimming some cardstock down to 7 ½” x 8 ½”, and then score that piece at 3½” for your slimline card. You’ll also want to cut two more panels to be 3 ½” x 8 ½”.

Step 2. Ink blend onto both or your 3 ½” x 8 ½” panels using the Distress Oxide colors Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire.

Step 3. Splatter those panels with some drops of water and some splatters of Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust. Set those aside to dry.

Step 4. Stamp all of your images onto some Copic friendly paper using some Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Color your images.

Step 5. Die cut your images using the matching dies.

Step 6. Cut two strips of black cardstock to be 1” x 8 ½”. Attach those to the bottom of both ink blended backgrounds.

Step 7. Using the large rectangle die from the Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps dies, cut one background.

Step 8. Start adhering your coasters to both background pieces, making sure to line them up so that they appear to be the same background.

Step 9. On the piece that you used the large rectangle die, use the flaps die. This piece will now be smaller than the original panel and have lifting flaps on it.

Step 10. Put some Crafty Foam Tape and some 3D Foam Squares all over the back of your flapped panel being sure to avoid the flaps. Adhere this to the other panel, lining up your scene so that it matches.

Step 11. Now you can start adhering 3 of your empty cars to the front of the flaps.

Step 12. Put critters in 3 of your cards and adhere those to the inside, lining them up with the outside.

Step 13. Stamp and cut your sentiment and adhere it to the front of your piece.

Step 14. Decorate your inside with any leftover pieces.

Step 15. Adhere your card panel to your card base.

I’m so excited with how easily this lift the flap card came out, and I sure hope you enjoyed it as well! I hope you give it a try, and remember that you can head over to ScrapbookPal.com’s YouTube channel to watch exactly how I put this fun card together.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cassie
