Peek-A-Boo Pals by Joy

Posted by Joy Fritz on

Step 1: First, I stamped out the images I needed from the Avery Elle Peek A Boo Pals stamp sets. Since I wanted to color the images with my Copics, I stamped with Memento Ink in Tuxedo on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. Then, I cut out the colored images with the coordinating dies.

Step 2: To create the background I cut one 4.25” x 5.5” rectangle from Bristol Smooth cardstock for each card. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, and Worn Lipstick along with a Mini Blending tool to create beautiful distress ink backgrounds.

Step 3: For each card front, I used the largest of Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables to cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock.

Step 4: To create some interest and give a place for the critters to peek out from, I choose three shapes to cut out of the card front. For the first card, I used the largest of Lawn Fawn’s Outside In Stitched Circle Stackables. For the second card, I used the largest Outside In Stitched Square Stackables. I decided to give the third card a different look and used the smallest Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackable to cut an opening from the card, and also cut a small Stitched Rectangle Frame from Lawn Fawn Narwhal cardstock to place around the opening. I stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Simply Sentiments in matching Distress Oxide ink below each opening.

Step 5: After my card fronts were ready I decided where I wanted my critters to peek out and adhered them with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube to the back of each opening so I could ensure they stay in place when I assemble the cards.

Step 6: To finish the cards, I placed foam tape on the back the card front and attached them to the distress inked backgrounds. I then attached these to a standard 4.25” x 5.5” card base.
