Shake Your Tail Feather by Anita

Shake Your Tail Feather by Anita

Here is how I made it:

I cut all my paper to the sizes listed, using my paper trimmer.

Using the Misti I stamped the sentiment (“today is your day”) on the lower half of the front panel, using memento Teal Zeal ink. I had a general idea of the placement for the bird on the inside. Using the Teal Zeal ink, I went ahead and stamped the inside message (“shake your tail feathers”) in roughly the same lower half as the front.

Using black Gina K. Amalgum ink I stamped “before bird” just above the sentiment on the front panel and stamped “after bird” on the 2.5” piece of Neenah. I set those aside for coloring after.

With Copic markers, I colored in both birds. W0 and colorless blender were used to make a little ground shadowing at the bottom of the images (feet area). On “before bird” I used a white Gelly Roll pen to accent some shape.

For “after bird”, I fussy cut it, using small scissors. I added the Gold Nuvo drops for decoration on the head feathers, Bubblegum Blush for the round spots on the large back feathers and dropped tiny dots of the Bottle Green on the feathers in a random fashion. I let the piece dry thoroughly and moved on to assemble the card.

I cut the green cardstock down to approx. 5.1/8 x 4 1/8. (I ended up with the sides a tiny bit over that and just rolled with it..)

I cut the panel with the “before bird” down to 5x4.

The inside panel was trimmed to 5.25x4.

I layered “before bird’s” panel on the green cardstock, using a tape runner (doing my best to center it..yikes!!)

I repeated this with the layered front panel and adhered it to the front of my card base with the same adhesive.

I adhered the inside panel to the inside of the card base with the tape adhesive, trying to center it so that there was a ¼ “border around the panel.

When “After bird” was finished drying, I used an action wobbler and mounted it to the back center of the bird, centered it above the sentiment and stuck the bird to the card base! Flick, shake, repeat!!
