Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil

Posted by Carrie Rhoades on

Hello stamping friends, Carrie Rhoades here. Today I get to share with you the Glimmer Hot Foil machine from Spellbinders. It is so exciting that you can not get this machine at the Scrapbook Pal shop, along with so many Glimmer Hot Foil plates.

You are going to want to check out the video that goes along with today’s post, as in it I share with you how to use the machine, how to get started and some tips and tricks I have learned along the way.

The cards I made with the Glimmer Hot Foil machine all feature an ink blended background and a hot foiled sentiment as well.

The ink blending was created with just a few Distress Inks; Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean. You can see here that the Glimmer Hot Foil machine foiled these images over those backgrounds beautifully. Let’s take a closer look.

For this first cards I used the plates that come with the machine as well as the roll of silver foil that also comes with the machine. This is a great frame that you could use with so many of the stamps and dies that you already own and create cards for any occasion.

The sentiment was created using the left over foil, the part you would discard after foiling. I will show you how I did that in the video, using adhesive sheets.

One of my favorite Glimmer Hot Foil plates of all time is the Polka Dot Strip that I used here. I have an easy trick to line this up and repeat foil it across an entire card front in the video.

And you can see here how great foiling looks on colored card stock as well.

I used the Rose Gold that comes with the Glimmer Hot Foil System and the Art Deco Border hot foil plates for this card. This card has got to be my favorite. I love the Rose Gold over this ink blended background.

You can catch the video for these cards right here.
