Sprinkled with Lots of Love

Sprinkled with Lots of Love

Posted by Liz Ford on 20th Jan 2021

First I put a layer down of the Wilted Violet Distress Ink onto Neenah 80# cardstock with a blending brush (I use makeup brushes I got off of Amazon).

Next I used the Crafter's Workshop Brick Stencil to create my purple brick portion of my kitchen backsplash. {I used my Wilted Violet Distress Ink mini cube with my blending brush and got a purple wash down; then I used the stencil to darken the brick.}

Third, I created my cabinet with some scrap pieces of cardstock and darkened it up with some light brown distress ink (like tea dye). (Sorry, I cannot remember exactly which one I used but just pick your color and use a small amount as it goes a long way when blending.)

Next, I arranged them and put a bit of clear scotch tape on the back to keep them in place; so I could glue them in the correct spot. I added a slim piece of the brown cardstock {from my stash} to be the 'counter top' in my kitchen. The floor portion of the kitchen is just some lightly inked Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink on some Neenah 80# cardstock that I trimmed down to fit the panel. I also splattered some water onto this to give it a bit of floor dimension.

I then ran the entire panel thru my die cutting machine using the A2 landscape card base layer die from Divinity Designs so it would all be one size and look uniform. Plus this die gives the edges of the card a slight bevel look that I like.

I used the following underlined Lawn Fawn stamp sets to create the front panel:

Baked with love: flour sack, pile of flour, cupcake, mixer, eggs, butter stick, silver shaker, and the large cake stand.

Sprinkled with joy: wooden rolling pin, oven, hearts [by the sentiment]; sentiment 'sprinkled with', and the heart cookies.

A creature was stirring: the three mice, the cookies on the plate, wooden spoon, the smaller cake stand, & the cake.

Keep on swimming:the table.

Special delivery: the 'lots of love' sentiment.

All of the above items were stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Neenah #80 cardstock.

I also used a VersaMark stamp pad to stamp both sentiments a second time and then embossed them with Ranger black embossing powder.

Prior to stamping with the VersaMark pad, I used the EK success powder tool to remove the static from my card panel.

After stamping all of my images, I used Copic markers to color them in.

I used BGs for the stove, bowl, and smaller cake stand.

The greens for the mixer and the larger cake stand.

A lot of earth tones for the spoon, rolling pin, cookies, eggs, flour, and frosting.

And reds for the cookies, apron, and oven mitts.

The mice were colored with the neutral grays and I gave them little pink cheeks and inside their ears.

The gray knobs for the counter handles were just some leftover circles I colored in with a gray Copic marker.

I put a complimentary purple plate under the cookies to tie in the purple color again.

Then I fussy cut out all of the images. I used my cutter bee scissors to do this. {There are coordinating dies available for all the Lawn Fawn images; I just don't have them in my possession as of right now. ;) }

After coloring in all the images and stamping the inside of the card, I arranged the images onto my panel. I glued all the images down onto the card. I use Art Glitter glue to adhere all my images. I like that it dries clear. I have a metal tip for this glue.

Since this is a busy scene in the kitchen, I did not pop up a lot of the items with 3M foam tape. I did put several glue dots (like two to three) behind the bowl of heart cookies, the cake on the small cake stand, and the mouse sprinkling the cookies for added depth. I did use some foam tape on the oven mitt mouse and the cupcake he is holding.

I put glossy accents on the bowl, silver part of the mixer, the eggs, the frosting on the dark chocolate cake, and the shaker the little mouse is using.

Stickles were put on the cookies and the cupcake.

On the INSIDE of the card I used the following underlined Lawn Fawn stamp sets:

Ho Ho holidays: for sentiments 'with love', & 'from all of us'

Celebration scripty sentiments: 'happy valentine's day'

Winter penguin: the heart

A creature was stirring: the two mice & the heart [in the paw of the apron wearer]

Joy to the woods: heart [in the top left cupcake]

Baked with love: both cupcakes & the filled in heart [in the chef's hat mouse paw]

Sprinkled with joy: small heart [next to left cupcake]; the cookie heart & the filled in heart [both near the top right cupcake].

Keep on swimming: three hearts [on right inside of domed cupcake]

I used chili pepper Lawn Fawn ink to stamp the happy valentine's day sentiment on the inside of the card and the other images were stamped in either either candied apple distress ink or aged mahogany distress ink.At the very end, I decided that the brick needed a little something something, so I carefully added some gold from Gansai Tambi starry skies watercolor paint. To do this, I covered most of the image with some scrap paper and then splattered it with a small paintbrush so it would just land on the brick portion of the panel.

Then my card was finished. :)
