Concord & 9th Kite Strings Cards

Posted by Kate Deignan on

SOARING CARDS:

I started out by cutting the large solid kite from the Concord and 9th Kite builder dies from several colors of cardstock. Here I used Grapefruit and Buttercup from Concord and 9th, and Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz from Stampin' Up!.

Stamp the "soaring sentiment" on each kite using Gina K. Jet Black Amalgam ink.

Add the kites using foam tape to any cloud patterned paper (Lawn Fawn's Petite Pack Hello Sunshine Remix would be perfect) or create your own by ink blending the clouds on white card stock using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border as a stencil, as in the card with the 3 kites.

Add clouds die cut from white card stock, either solid clouds (Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts Simple Puffy Cloud or cloud outlines (Cloud Frames)

Die cut the kite parts from the kite builder set to add strings, tassels and bows. It's actually easier to cut the bows from white cardstock and then color with Copic markers, than it is to cut from lots of different colored cardstock.

Attach all the "bits" with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and Uchida Jewel picker-- those bits are super tiny!

HANG IN THERE CARD:

Ink blend the clouds on white cardstock using Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass with Couture Creations Blending Brush Kit using the Lawn Fawn Cloud Border making a paper stencil. I like using the brushes because they give such a light airy look and if I make a paper stencil from my die cuts, I never have to clean it!

Stamp the different kite images from the Concord and 9th Kite Strings stamp set (#10936) in pink, lavender and yellow inks onto white cardstock and cut out using the coordinating dies. Cut some more kite builder bits and attach the strings and bows to the kites. Don't forget to stamp the "Hang in There" .
