Hey Boo Slimline Card and Treats

Posted by Carrie Rhoades on

Hello, Carrie Rhoades here, back with another project for Scrapbook Pal, featuring the Hey Boo stamp set by Spellbinders/FSJ. I am so excited to be playing with Halloween colors and images. This stamp set is a cute set and that is my favorite style for Halloween. I want to bring happiness to my friends and family with a mix of fun colors, cute Halloween images and a sweet treat too.

Since I am currently in love with making slimline cards I thought the cat in this set would be perfect for a slimline card.

I used some Lawn Fawn inks; Fake Tan, Sugar Plum and Soot to stamp out my three cats and their paws. I used these same colors for the additional images I added to the card.

For my background I used Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink to blend on an ombre background. I then spritzed it with water to give it some splatter.

To make the background even more cool I hot foiled a spider web at in each corner of my ink blended panel. I used the Spider Web Background Hot Foil plate by Spellbinders and Opal foil. When you turn this card in the light you see the subtle shine of the web, as Opal foil is translucent with a pearl finish.

For the sentiment, I hot foiled Creep It Real from the Spooky Greetings Hot Foil set in black foil.

The finished size of my slimline card is 9” x 8” scored at 4”, this size fits perfectly in the business size envelopes I had on hand.

I also used some of the images from this set to dress up the inside of my card.

I love the look of the cats paws holding the inside panel.

Since Halloween is all about treats, I wanted to make a coordinating treats to go with my card.

I thought the cat could perfectly hold a fun size bag of m&m’s.

I used double stick tape to adhere the cat’s head to the bag and glue dots to secure the feet to the bag.

For the feet I cut away the claws, they just didn’t seem to work or look right at the bottom of the bag.

You can watch the making of these project in the video below. I hope that you are inspired to make some cute creations for Halloween!
