Lawn Fawn Mom + Me Pull Tab Card

Hello stamping friends, it’s Carrie Rhoades here today. I am so excited to be up on the Scrapbook Pal blog and YouTube channel. Today I am featuring the Mom + Me stamp set by Lawn Fawn. This is a great stamp set for Mother’s Day, but also fun to send an uplifting card to a mom. You could even make a card as a Mom to give to your child. Lawn Fawn did not leave the Dad’s out, there is also the Dad + Me stamp set. I will link both for you below.

For today’s card I had the idea to make a Pull Tab card. In the Mom + Me stamp set there is a stump for the critters to sit on. I thought it would be fun to put the stump on the pull tab and when you pull the tab there are little bugs under it. Something that a little kid would love to see and so I thought it would be a fun surprise element on this card.

First let’s take a look at the card with the stump all the way down.

I have used several images from the Mom + Me stamp set. My youngest daughter has had a thing for owls most of her life, so she said I had to use the owls for this card. There are also foxes in this set that would be super cute on this card as well.

I used the new Cloudy and Grassy stencils from Lawn Fawn to create the background. I love the stenciled grass behind the stump and the die cut grass in front of the stump, it really gives it a 3D look. To add to that look I added some stamped and die cut grass and flowers from the set.

In the sky I added some butterflies, heart and the scripty word, Mom. To finish off my sentiment I white embossed “Owl always love you” on the die cut grass.

And when you pull the tab.....

You get a peek underground and all the little bugs that live under the stump. These three bugs are from the new stamp set, A Bug Deal by Lawn Fawn. One of my new favorite sets.
You can see that under the stump, it is brown. I did some masking so that I could make this area brown, for the look of dirt under the stump. I attached the owls to the stump and then attached that to the pull tab so they both move up and down when you pull the tab.
