Honey Bee Stamps Vintage Mailbox Shape Card

Posted by Carrie Rhoades on

Hi there Carrie Rhoades here, happy to be back on the Scrapbook Pal blog. Today I get to share with you a beautiful new die set from Honey Bee Stamps, Vintage Mailbox. Along with some well coordinated products I am going to use this die set to make a shape card. I went for a shabby chic look and Distress Oxide inks is my medium of choice today. See it all come together in this video.

If you cannot see this video on your screen, you can also watch it HERE.

Here are some close of pictures of the card.

What makes the Vintage Mailbox die set so cool is that is not only die cuts two flaps in to the front the the mailbox, but it also presses detail into the panel. This die is cuts a mailbox that is  3 3/4" Wide x 5 1/2" Tall. It is just the right size to make a shape card and the dies make it very easy to do just that, as I will demonstrate in the video.

First, let's take a look at what I added behind the flaps or "doors" in this mailbox.

I used a coordinating die called, Mini Postcard. It is mini and it is so cute! The die cut post card is 3-18" Wide x 2-3/8" Tall. I did some ink smooshing on water color paper to get a very vintage feel on these postcards before stamping on them with the Post Marked Stamp Set.

You can just see in that top opening of the mailbox there is a stamped sentiment, it reads "Consider this a paper hug" and is from the Mailbox Memos Sentiment Stamp Set.  I also used these stamp sets on the inside of this shaped card.

I just love the variety of sentiments offered in the Mailbox Memos, and especially love this two part sentiment that says; "There is a surprising amount of love in this cards... and it's all for you."

You can see I used more of the Post Marked stamp set to dress up the inside as well as a bit of splatter and ink blending to coordinate with the outside of the cards.

Here I hope you can get a better sense of the detail in these die cuts, they are so pretty!

If you are interested in the supplies used to make this card they are all listed and linked for you below.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the blog today and watch the video too.

We will be back again soon with more paper crafting inspiration for you.
