Spellbinders: Window with a View - Coastal Escape

Posted by Lieschen Harshbarger on

Hi crafty friends! I'm very excited to share with you today's card tutorial featuring new dies from the Windows With A View Collection from Spellbinders. The die set I used is called Coastal Escape View, and I could not help but to think about being back home in Puerto Rico - imagining being on one of the many beautiful white sand beaches there and relaxing while watching the sunset.

I started by trimming a front panel piece for my A2 card base. I then placed the Waves Pierced Cover Plate onto the front panel piece and ran it through my die cutting machine. I love that pierced background!

Next, I glued the pierced background onto my A2 card base with Nuvo Adhesive.

I put the card base aside and started die cutting the images from the Coastal Escape View die set out of colored card stock. I started die cutting several of the images, but as you will see later on I decided to only use some of them. The rest I will be able to use for another fun card.

Next, I used the circle die cut to ink blend that sunset I mentioned earlier. For this, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Saltwater Taffy, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks.

Once I was done ink blending the sunset circle, I started creating my scene with the die cuts from the Coastal Escape View die set. Then, I added some accents on the palm trees and small island with Copic E44 and a white gel pen.

Then, I used some foam adhesive on the back of the sunset circle die cut.

Next, I taped the sunset circle die cut onto the front panel piece, and glued some additional die cuts to it. Then I added some Liquid Pearls on the window frame to make it look like a port hole window with bolts or rivets.

To finish the card, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Sending Sunshine stamp set on colored card stock with white embossing powder.

I hope you have enjoyed today's card tutorial as much as I did when I made it and that it gives you some fun inspiration to do something fun and creative today!
