Spellbinders Dancin' Panda

Posted by Lieschen Harshbarger on

Hi crafty friends! I hope your weekend is off to a good start. Today I want to share with you a card I made featuring dies from the Spellbinders Monster Birthday Collection. I think the entire collection is so fun and adorable. Make sure to check it out. The cute dancing panda dies used on today’s card are adorable and perfect for any occasion.

I used the larger arch from the Make A Wish Arch Labels to make my card base. I simply folded a 8 ½ x 11 card stock, then trimmed enough for the die to fit. Next, I placed the arch die slightly above the fold so that it trimmed the corners of the fold, but left the middle – so that the card will still have a fold after the die cut. Then, I used other arches to die cut out patterned and solid card stock.

Next, I used the cute dancing panda to make the die cuts out of white and black card stock. Once I was done die cutting, I started gluing parts of the panda together.

Then, I die cut one of the glasses from the Smart Glasses die set out of holographic card stock and glued them on the panda.

When I was done gluing my die cuts, I started gluing the patterned arch to the card base. Then I added foam adhesive to the smaller arch and taped it onto the card base. To make the panda’s little legs move, I positioned where I wanted the panda to be and then I placed a round foam adhesive on the round opening of the legs to make sure they could move around. I applied foam adhesive to the panda, and then taped it to the leg piece.

Of course, the card needed a sentiment so I heat embossed one of the sentiments from the Monster Birthday Sentiments set.

I wanted the glasses to look like actual glasses, so I added some glossy accents to make them look like glass.

All that was left was to pair this fun card to a matching envelope to be ready to be sent to a loved one. I hope you have enjoyed today’s card tutorial as much as I did when I made it and that it has given you some fun inspiration to do something creative today. See you next time!
