This birthday party is hopping, or at least the guest of honor is hopping! This blog (and this video) features Copic coloring, Distress Oxide ink blending and stamping, and assembling a slider element on a card.
Instructions:
Create the front panel:
1. Die cut a white cardstock panel using Lawn Fawn’s Large Slimline stitched rectangle
2. Die cut a slider track in the panel using the large curve slider that is included in the Large Slimline die set
3. Ink blend Distress Oxide ink onto the panel creating a blue sky in the middle and green leaves around the
edges
4. Stamp leaves from Lawn Fawn’s A Bug Deal stamp set all around the edges of the panel in two shades of
green Distress Oxide
5. Stamp the sentiment on the panel in Distress Oxide using the MISTI
6. Allow ink to dry
Stamp and color the images:
1. In the MISTI, position the stamps from Lawn Fawn’s A Bug Deal stamp set on white cardstock
2. Shut the door of the MISTI to pick up the stamps
3. Ink them with Copic friendly ink (Lawn Fawn Jet Black)
4. Shut the door of the MISTI to apply the ink to the paper
5. Color the images with Copic Markers
6. Cut out the images using the coordinating dies with a die cutting machine
Decorate the front panel:
1. Arrange and glue die cut images of two tree branches from Lawn Fawn’s A Bug Deal onto the panel on either
end of the slider cut out
2. Glue party hats onto the bugs
3. Arrange and glue images onto the panel from A Bug Deal such as leaves, cupcake, and bugs
Create the Slider Element:
1. Cut a piece of craft foam slightly smaller than the front panel
2. Cover the foam with the front panel and mark the slider area with a pencil on the foam
3. Cut the foam around the marked slider area
4. Add ¼” Scrappy Tape to both sides of the foam
5. Adhere the foam to the front panel
6. Add a piece of Tombow foam tape to the back of the grasshopper
7. Place the grasshopper over the slider area
8. Cut three speech bubbles from Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts - A Bug Deal
9. Ink blend the top speech bubble to match the background
10. Glue the three speech bubbles together
11. Trim the foam slider track and speech bubbles until the speech bubble fits securely in the track
12. With the speech bubble behind the front panel, and the grasshopper on the front of the front panel, adhere
the foam tape connected to the grass hopper onto the speech bubble
Create the Card Base and Complete the Card:
1. Cut a piece of white cardstock 8.5” x 7”
2. Score and fold the side that is 7” in half (3.5”)
3. Ink blend the center of the card base to match the panel where it will show in the slider opening
4. Take off the release paper on the craft foam which is adhered to the front panel, and adhere to the card base
